8 WATER BOREHOLS IN THE GOGTI AREA

Water

Drilling of eight water boreholes with drinking troughs in the Gogti area. The Somali region in eastern Ethiopia, on the border with Somalia, is subject to regular droughts that force people and livestock to migrate in search of water and food. In addition to internal migration Somali refugees are entering the region to flee from famine and war.

This was the first intervention made by Amare npo in Ethiopia. It was in collaboration with the Salesian father Gianni Premoli, responsible for the Catholic mission of Jijga at that time.

3 water boreholes were destroyed due to a flood.
